Garden Shop

 

GARDEN SHOP

 

In the Garden Shop, children will stock and supply the shop shelves with plants and garden supplies. Children will be able to sink their fingers into the soil to plant seeds. Simple tools make it easy to study the leaves, pigments, roots and traits of the variety of growing plants, fruits and vegetables. 

Living, growing plants will be nearby to compare growth  responses to light and food. 

 

Messages/Objectives: 

To introduce different types of plants and ani-mals com-mon in the backyard. 

To encourage experimentations with simple tools such as a magnifying glass or microscope. 

To provide opportunities to interact with care-givers and other children.
