Groundbreaking set for The Children’s Museum Of Green Bay
May 20, 2010
The Children’s Museum of Green Bay will break ground June 25, 2010.
The Groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 10:00 am on the corner of Washington and Pine Street the future site of the 15,000-square-foot children’s museum. The $4.5-million facility will house twelve exhibit and play areas focusing on Northeast Wisconsin. A 2500 traveling exhibit area will open with a interactive play area featuring the Green Bay Packers.
The museum will draw children from throughout Wisconsin, but due to tourism in the region and the Green Bay Packers the museum will have visitors from across the country and world. The new museum expects over 120,000 visitors each year.
The museum is still in the midst of its fundraising campaign. The museum had raised more than $2 million by the end of 2009.
